Northern Sierra Nevada Biomass Study, Phase 1 (6/96)
This report documents the results of an 18 month study to quantify biomass in three northern Sierra Nevada area national forest (Plumas, Tahoe, and El Dorado National forests). Tables found in the appendices at the back of the report indicate quantities of live, thin-able trees ranging in size from 5 to 18 inches diameter breast height. Another appendix contains a special report from Boston University that quantifies the standing dead timber in the Lake Tahoe Basin. The last appendix contains the chemical and physical analysis of live thinable specimens provided by University of California Forest Products Laboratory.

Tahoe Basin Biomass Utilization Study, Phase 2
This report documents the results of assessment during 1996 of the economics of the Northern Sierra Biomass Utilization Region and encompasses elements of four northern Sierra Nevada area national forests. Appendices included in the back of the report provide an annotated contact list of all who have evinced an interest in this project; an annotated contact list of existing and potential funding sources for businesses interested in augmenting exiting or initiating new biomass utilization industries; and California Closures: Sawmills and Plywood/Veneer/Other listing.
